ABOUT

Sophia Castillo is a licensed real estate agent, educator, and researcher serving California’s Central Coast.

Local Expertise with a Global Perspective

I was born and raised on California’s Central Coast, where my deep roots in the community have shaped my understanding of the region’s unique real estate market. After moving away for college, I lived, studied, and worked in Los Angeles, San Diego, Costa Rica, and London, UK, gaining invaluable insights into diverse cultures, housing markets, and global trends. With this broad perspective, I bring a unique, research-driven, and client-centered approach to real estate that ensures my clients receive the most informed guidance possible.

An Educator’s Approach to Real Estate

Graduating at the top of my class with a Master’s degree in Anthropology from San Diego State University, I spent years researching economic trends, community structures, and social systems—knowledge that directly informs my real estate practice. My background as a university-level educator, researcher, and project manager has made me highly skilled at explaining complex concepts in clear, digestible ways, ensuring my clients feel empowered to make the best decisions for their futures.

10+ Years of Experience in Luxury Home & Family Management

Before transitioning into real estate, I worked for over a decade as a luxury home assistant, family resource manager, and travel nanny for multiple high-profile families. This experience gave me first-hand insight into the logistics of high-end property management, home organization, and family-friendly living spaces. I understand what makes a home functional, practical, and truly livable—whether for a growing family, an investor, or a retiree looking for the perfect coastal escape.

A Family Legacy in Real Estate

In 2022, after giving birth to twin boys, I moved back to my hometown to help run my family's real estate business. Working alongside my mother, Marcia Guthrie—an esteemed real estate agent with 35+ years of experience—I have had the privilege of learning from one of the most respected professionals in the field. Together, we combine experience, research, and local expertise to provide exceptional service tailored to our clients’ needs.
